Checking in

We are all still doing well and life just keeps flying past. I'm updating on my phone, so the pics will all be at the end, but I will try to summarize what they are.

The picture of my mom and Chaille was taken while the kids stayed the night with my parents. They offered to watch the kids on my birthday and Steve and I took the day off together. We went shopping, primarily for Nolan's birthday and for stuff to decorate his room. His newly painted room and bedding are in the pictures too.

There are also pictures of Grandma Marjorie reading to Chaille, a treasured time for them both, and of Chaille swinging at Grandma and Grandpa Frye's house too!

The picture of the coffee pot is precious to me. Steve had to leave early for work one morning this week. He left us all a cup with our favorite morning drinks and a note on each telling us that he loved us. I had told the kids that it was sweet for dad to let us know that he was thinking of us . So, that evening Nolan asked if we could put a note on dads coffee maker. He wanted it to say "dad, I love you." And then he would sign his name. He said, "that way dad will know that I was thinking about him like he was thinking about me." Awe, I melted. They have the greatest example in their father!!!

The other two pictures are of Nolan getting his hair cut, and then of the boys, post haircut! Usually Steve cuts their hair, but we were having trouble finding time, so I took them to Fantastic Sams and had it cut this week. They were so good, and their hair looks very nice!

That's pretty much what we have been up to. I also booked our Spring Break vacation this morning. We are excited to be heading back to St. Augustine again this year and will be staying at a house right on the beach again! We are all SO excited!!!!

Precious moments

I just know that we are currently living one of the most precious phases of our lives! Moments like those in these pictures are what life is made of:

Back to Usual

Life seems to be back to our usual. We have been back to school four days now and everyone has been (knock on wood) healthy this week. I have to admit that 2 weeks out of our routine has made for some tired evenings for us all. But... We are making it and have had a good week back. I really love our ordinary days!

I've snapped a few pictures this week of random moments that grabbed me. This is what our life looks like on an ordinary day:

Paoli Peaks

Last night we took the kids down to Paoli to go tubing. Steve had been invited down that way to visit a buddy, so we rode along and then went on down to Paoli. We got there around 6:30 and tubed for about 2 1/2 hours! It was a lot of fun.

The hills were ICE and we flew down them. Nolan and Chaille had to be held on to by an adult, and Chaille LOVED it! The girl has no fear. Nolan, however, was done after 3 or 4 times. He said it was just too fast. He was the only one who got cold because he just sat at the top of the hill. All in all, it was a fun trip and was well worth the long drive and the money!

Again, or Still...

Avery has strep!!! I believe that the amoxicillin just never actually did away with the infection. He has been so pale and just not bounced back 100%. So, we started a round of Zithromax tonight. Hopefully this will kick the infection to the curb!

Tonight, while we had a long wait at the clinic, he and I had so much fun. We read magazines together, played I spy, and watched Americas Funniest Videos on Netflix while we waited. Then, we went to Kroger while we waited on his medicine. We even had a good time grocery shopping at 8:30 at night. I treasure one on one moments like the one we had tonight! I love you, Avery!!!
