Day 3 - Beach Day

Today we went to breakfast in St Augustine at McDonalds and got groceries. Then, we came back and enjoyed the beach for a few hours. After lunch, The boys flew kites on the beach while Chaille napped. Then we all walked on the beach before getting cleaned up for supper. I could tell Steve wasn't feeling well when he opted out of seafood for dinner in place of something easier! We went to taco bell where he did not eat. Come to find out, he has viral pink eye and the fever that the boys had. I'm praying that both are short lived!! Here are pictures from today:

Spring Break - Days 1&2

We left home last night for our spring break vacation. We drove through the night and the kids were wonderful for the trip. Our stops were few and always meaningful! We checked into our rental house on the beach this evening, ordered pizza, and everyone went to bed early (except me, but it is still early!) Here are some pictures from our fun so far:

Tonight we went to a surprise party for Troy, Steve's brother from the fire service. We love him and the entire family, but we see them far too seldom. Anyway, Happy 40th Troy! Here's to MANY more! :0)

A fun weekend

This weekend was a nice preview of summer, while it is technically WINTER! We enjoyed every minute too!

Friday night I hosted a jewelry party. It was a fun time, and the kids had many friends here to play with. Saturday, we enjoyed a day at home until the evening. While at home, we played outside, and Avery even ran with me! He made it 1.1 miles running and then biked 1.4 miles and walked with me for a mile! They camped last night, and Avery slept like a log! While they camped, Chaille and I shopped for vacation and went to see Melissa and Wes' new house. They have a beautiful new home!

Today we spent the day on the farm. We had a great time. The kids enjoyed feeding the horses while we were there too:

Catch up post

We have had a fairly eventful week! Nothing major, but a lot of little stuff.

Steve returned Sunday evening from his deployment. We were glad to have him home and he was exhausted from a very challenging weekend with little sleep (see picture at the end of this post!)

Tuesday, I began having trouble with my eyes. After having had such a terrible time with the eye infection I had almost 4 years ago, I knew not to mess around and let this go. So... We rushed to the eye doctor. I got some drops to help my eyes heal and am not allowed to wear contacts until my eyes heal. No big deal, but thankfully I caught it before it became one!

Thursday, Avery came down with a fever. By this morning it was gone, and we are left guessing that it was a quick virus. He spent today at work with Steve. They had a great time, and in so glad he felt better so soon!!!

Spring break is two weeks away! Before then, I have a jewelry party to prepare for. After spring break, I am taking a big test. I am taking the Math test required to add to Math to my content areas on my teaching license. It is going to be difficult, and I have a lot of studying to do!!!

Well, tonight the kids are staying with grandma and grandpa Grinstead. I'm off to relax and enjoy this quiet time! Back soon and hopefully with more pictures!

Staying Busy

Yesterday, Steve was called away on another deployment following severe tornado outbreaks in southern Indiana. He got the call just as we were headed out for supper and an evening of fun as a family. We were bummed about it, but understand that this is life when your Daddy is a hero.

We have had a great weekend so far, despite him having to respond. I have wonderful friends and they have kept the kids and I busy, and our minds occupied and away from any worries! We went to dinner with my parents last night. Then, today, we went to the Home Depot workshop for kids and made racecars, to a farmers market, to lunch at Culver's, back home for play, and then to see the Lorax movie. It has been fun! State House Visit

Today Steve took Avery and Silas to visit Grandpa Randy at work. Not every child has a State Representative in the family, and the boys felt quite privileged to have the opportunity. They had a GREAT day! Here are some pictures from their day:

The Mobile Life

Sorry I've been away for so long! Ive finally installed the blogger app on my phone, to make it more convenient to blog. Hopefully I will find time to check in more regularly :0) In a nutshell:

School is going well.
I love my job and my coworkers!
The kids are thriving.
Nolan turned 4 and we had a wonderful celebration with family and friends.
I put together the schools first ever walkathon, with a lot of great help. It turned out to be a success! We had so much fun!
The kids are growing up right before our eyes!
