NYE!

Tonight we are enjoying New Year's Eve at home in the comfort and safety of our home.  Earlier today, however, we got out and enjoyed Uncle David's family again before they head back to Maryland.  We helped Grandma get her Christmas tree down and then went to Grandpa Randy's to spend time with everyone down there.  The boys had fun with the other 3 boys, and they even all played a big game of UNO full of lots of laughs.  Chaille cuddled with Lydia and made Lydia follow her all around.  It was cute.  We really enjoy David's family and had lots of laughs with Tamie about how together our families make a DOZEN Frye's.  We also each have 3 boys and 1 girl!

Sledding

Yesterday, we went down to the farm and went sledding. I took lots of pictures but they are on my camera. I will add them here when I feel better and can hook the camera up to the computer. To say the least, all of the kids loved sledding! Even Chaille went down repeatedly by herself, even going off of jumps!

We also enjoyed getting to see Uncle David and his family who are in town from Maryland. I will also add a picture of his oldest, Christopher, picking up our oldest, Avery. They all really hit it off once again. Uncle David's kids always are so great to our kids (see past blogs!)

Momma'a Turn...

... With the stomach bug. Boo! I was up most of the night, and am still feeling poorly this morning. I thought that the kids got over it so quickly that I would too. Doesn't seem that way, unfortunately. Camping out in my bed today, while my wonderful husband is on full time dad duty. He's the best!

*** edited to add: After a long day of feeling poorly, I'm thoroughly convinced there is no better man in the world. Steve cooked and cleaned up, went grocery shopping, and kept the kids entertained and out of the way for me. They had a fun day with dad, and I have had a restful day. It is now 7:40, and I'm finally feeling significantly better with a lingering headache and body aches. Praying for a full nights rest and a much better day tomorrow. I'm also praying that the bug stops here!!! ***

Treasure

It dawned on me this evening that Avery, Nolan, and Chaille haven't left our home, except to play in the snow since last Sunday. The other three of us have only gone out minimally. Oh, how our family time has been something I treasure. Things have been laid back and fun. These are days that I will someday long to live again! I think the rejuvenation is something we could use more often. Here are some more pictures from our week:

Eye Doctor

Silas had his annual eye doctor visit yesterday. The great news is that his prescription hasn't changed. The bad news is that his glasses are getting too small already! He was hamming it up while I tried to get pictures:

If you want to be included in those that are given the new location, feel free to comment below and I will email or text or Facebook message you with the new address!

Thank you and see you on the new site soon!

Blizzard and Bug

Today we are experiencing what the media is calling a blizzard. The snow is blowing sideways outside. Inside, another child has fallen victim to the stomach bug. Nolan is the unfortunate one.

Steve had to report to work at 7:00 this morning. I'm not sure how long he will have to work, but I just want him to stay safe! We will be fine here. He got the gas fireplace all ready go for me before he left and we have plenty to do and plenty of food! All that is missing is him snuggling with us.

I'll update later with new pictures of the snow.

*** Updated to add: Nolan rebounded quickly. He ate breakfast at 9:30 and lunch at noon. As of 2:20, he is still happy and playing! Yay!

Still no news as to how long Steve has to be gone, but things have slowed way down here in the snow and wind department. The kids and I are bundling up now and headed out to play!***

*** Updated again to add: we did not end up with blizzard conditions here, although some places further south of here did. We had about 8 inches of snow and some wind. It was over by evening and Steve as home by 6:00. He came bearing supper, and we were all thankful after 2 hours outside playing and shoveling snow! ***

Christmas 2012

Merry Christmas to all of our family and friends!  Happy Birthday, Jesus!!!

We have had a wonderful Christmas day.  The kids woke at 6:30, and by 7:00 we were busy opening gifts.  Avery and Silas were excited that mom and dad got them an xbox 360 with kinect, and Santa brought them games to go with it.  Good thing mom let Santa in on that secret!

Nolan and Chaille got an indoor trampoline for the bonus room, and Chaille wore herself out jumping!  She is feeling MUCH better today, however has a cough and snotty nose.  Still no fever though!  Santa brought lots of games and we should be able to stay very busy through the snow storm that is on the way.  They say that it may be blizzard-like.  I'm praying for all of us who may be affected.  And I'm looking forward to lots of playtime and eventually a SLEDDING trip!

Steve has a mandatory work meeting tonight ahead of the storm.  I imagine that he will spend the majority of the time up in Carmel, as they typically use the administration during big snows.  I don't look forward to being apart during the storm, but I understand that it is part of his job.  I'll know more after the evening meeting.

We enjoyed having my mom and dad and grandma for lunch today.  It isn't often that we have a big meal here at our house.  It was very nice to have a "feast" with the family here to join us.  So far, it has been a very delightful day!

I'll finish with pictures from today.  Some are from the camera and some are from my phone.  Merry Christmas!
